Ayam Penyet

First time I tried Indonesian cuisine is in Bumbu Bali, Puchong. Sedap tak terkata. Kemudian muncul pula menu Ayam Penyet. Dan saya sudah merasa makanannya 2 kali. Tapi saya bukan makan ayamnya, tapi ikannya kerana saya seorang penggemar ikan.

Biasala...kalau dah namanya 'birthday girl', mesti kena pau. Dengan seikhlas hati saya mempelawa housemate makan di restoran Ayam Penyet USJ. Pelawaanku ternyata tidak di tolak.

This is Ayam Penyet, served with hot red and green sambal.

This is we call sayur pecal, I'm not sure the spelling is right or not.

This is my menu, Mujarab Penyet. Actually ni ikan talapia. Good for fish lover.
Also served with both red and green sambal beserta ulam-ulaman.

We can order set menu because it's including with beverage, plain soup and desert. For beverage, I chose Ice Lemon Tea. Tapi Ice Lemon Tea semalam terlebih-lebih manis mcm minum air gula plk.

And most of us always ask what is the meaning of 'Penyet'?

As I referred to the newspaper which this restaurant's owner had explained to the reporter, the word penyet means mashed. The chicken is boiled for about an hour, then mixed with spices. The boiling process makes the meat tender. Agaknya sebab itu kalau makan ayam tu rasa lembut aje.
