Unimap - sampai bila harus ku tunggu

I sent an email to my ex-lecturer, Ir. Assoc. Prof. Mohabattul Zaman regarding the 'Ijazah Unimap Tidak Di iktiraf' issue. Dah dekat 2 tahun keje tiba2 keluar paper kata ijazah tak di iktiraf. Kebetulan plak bos tanya pasal ada register dgn BEM tak, dengan penuh kesyahduan saya jawab belum! Alasan? Univ. saya baru bos...belum dapat pengiktirafan lagi. Petang tu jugak saya terus menaip emel kepada Ir. Mohabattul Zaman dan tanya dia mengenainya, di tambah lagi bila terpapar dalam Utusan Malaysia 6 Ogos lepas berita ini. Sungguh aku tidak puas hati.

Dan semalam saya dapat balasan jawapan daripadanya...thanks a lot to Prof.

As regards to the letter on 5th Aug, UniMAP had provided our feedback on 6th of August. FYI, I am just back from meeting with JPA, BEM and EAC yesterday. Attending different meeting but I had checked few things with them regarding to accreditation as well as recognition of UniMAP's degrees.

According to JPA, all 20 UniMAP Engineering Degrees as well as 6 Eng Diploma had been recognized by government (thru JPA). At this point of time, 2 UniMAP's degree (Micro-e as well as computer) had been recognized by BEM since 2006. For the remaining 8 program (graduates from 2007 to 2009), BEM will make decision ASAP. FYI, we had been underwent accreditation in 2007 but Washington Accord had viewed UniMAP degrees prone towards practical and had differed the application. We had submitted for re-evaluation and it had been conducted in April 2009 and all 8 programs (including metallurgy - as commented by "abang perihatin"), had surpassed BEM stringent requirements for engineering degree.

So now the ball is with BEM and we are waiting for BEM to give their approval. Meeting is scheduled in end of Aug. Once done, the JPA data will be updated.

So, don't worry.. just stay cool and wait. BTW, sila fill in the BEM form for graduate engineer registration and you can submit already. BEM will process once the final endorsement meeting done.
